TapGuard — How to Set Up, Test, and Reuse
New to TapGuard? Follow Steps 0–4 (Download → Write → Scan → Test).
Want to reset your TapGuard? Do Steps 5 → 1 → 2 → 4 (Clear → Write → Scan → Test).

1Tap Write and paste your destination URL
This is what opens when someone taps your TapGuard.
- Great picks: price history, highlight video, listing, showcase hub.
- Use short, stable HTTPS links for fastest opens.
Enter or paste your link.
2Tap Write to NFC Tag → hold phone to TapGuard
“Ready to Scan” appears. Touch your phone’s NFC area to the top edge of the TapGuard and hold 1–2s.
- iPhone: NFC near the top/front camera.
- Android: try top/back first, then center/back.
Scan to save the link to your TapGuard.
3Success message appears
You’ll feel a vibration or see a success confirmation in the app.
- If it fails, reposition the phone and try again (remove thick/metal cases).
Successful scan confirmation.
4Test it — tap again to open your link
Immediately tap your phone to the TapGuard a second time. Your link should open.
- If nothing opens, go to Read or see troubleshooting below.
Tap again to verify the link opens.
5Reuse a TapGuard — Clear first
Home → Clear → Start Clearing Tag → scan; then repeat Steps 1–4 with your new link.
Read a Tag (Optional)
Home → Read → “Ready to Scan” → tap the TapGuard. The stored link opens so you can check it.
Pro Tips
- Where to tap: align your phone’s NFC area with the top edge of the TapGuard (try front/back if finicky).
- Steady: hold for 1–2s; you’ll feel a vibration/see success.
- Links: use compact HTTPS links for fastest opens.
- Privacy: anyone can open the link you write; prefer share-safe pages.
